Press release: Finnish burger chain opens in Copenhagen at the end of July
The Finnish fresh casual burger chain Friends & Brgrs will open on Vimmelskaftet 47 in central Copenhagen on July 27. By sourcing high-quality ingredients and making everything from scratch, Friends & Brgrs hopes to make a splash on the burger scene in Copenhagen.
Friends & Brgrs was founded in 2013 by 6 friends who share a passion for great burgers. With extensive experience in the food industry, they decided to open a restaurant together. They travelled the world to get inspiration, and ate burgers in places like Florida, London and Stockholm. The first restaurant opened its doors in Pietarsaari in 2014, and since then four more have opened in Finland.
CEO and co-founder Peter Fagerholm is optimistic about the prospects of the company’s first international location. “We know there are a lot of great burgers in Copenhagen, but we feel like there’s a place for a restaurant like ours. We’re obsessed with taste and quality, and we make our food from scratch. We bake our own buns, triple-cook our fries and grind the meat ourselves. We also avoid additives whenever possible. We’re always trying to improve our food, and we’ve been doing that for three years now.”
Although the chain is Finnish, the ingredients will be mostly Danish. “We believe in using the freshest and best ingredients possible, so obviously we want to work with local suppliers. Luckily there are plenty of quality-minded suppliers here in Denmark.”
The restaurant in Copenhagen will be the chain’s fifth, and the first one outside of Finland. “Copenhagen is a perfect fit for Friends & Brgrs. It’s a very international city, and the people here appreciate burgers and good food. We’re very excited about the opening, and we look forward to serving great burgers to the happiest people in the world.”
