Friends & Brgrs launches labeling of additive-free burger meals
Friends & Brgrs is implementing its own label for completely additive-free food. The chain’s menu now features a symbol that tells customers which burgers are free from additives.
This is an important step towards the company’s long term goal of becoming completely additive-free. Today, seven out of eight burgers on the Finnish menu are free from additives. The chain’s Fresh Fries are also made without additives from fresh potatoes.
“We do this because we believe that you get the best taste by using clean ingredients. Since we only use fresh ingredients and prepare all of the food ourselves, there’s no need to use any additives” says COO Saul Mäenpää, who’s also responsible for the product development.
Friends & Brgrs is also in the midst of launching its own additive-free lemonade. The lemonade is available in three different flavours and is sold at restaurants in Finland.
“We think there’s a strong trend toward clean and unprocessed ingredients. More and more guests want to know about the ingredients and how their food is being made. In the US, a few of the larger restaurant chains have launched additive-free menus in the past year,” says CEO Peter Fagerholm.
